America's shark lady bryan pickler

America's shark lady is a nonfiction biography of Eugenia Clark who is know as America's shark lady, written by Ann McGovern.  Eugenia Clark was just a normal girl who lived in new york, who had a dream of swimming with sharks, and followed that Dream. She went to hunter college in new York City in 1942. She would often go on trips to California to study fish and work as a part time research assistant to Dr.carl Hubbs, a famous ichthyologist. There she learned all she needed to know about deep sea diving, and professional diver. On her first deep sea dive her helmet had broken and water started to Come in, and filled it with water. Eugenia quickly took it off and swam to the surface and grabbed quickly to the boat with the help of her crew. Even through she had experienced that frightful moment, that didn't stop her and she went back down again. After sodding in California for almost a year she returned home to new York and worked at the American museum of natural history. After about three years later, Eugenie was sent off by the US to the pacific islands to learn more about types of fish and sharks in that area. When she returned home she wrote a book on all of her adventures called lady Werth a spear. She would often be in the lab doing tests with sharks to see how they would react to different things. During the 1970's Eugenia took many deep sea diving missions in a submarine to discover more about sharks and we're they lived, ate, and what kinds of species they are. If you love fishing and are fascinated with underwater discoveries, this is a book for you!
