In this exciting book, we go on a journey through Scott Hudson's first year at high school. While trying to figure out where he belongs in the transfer from middle to high school, Scott also finds out his mother is pregnant with Hudson number three. In an attempt to spare his soon to be brother, the former youngest Hudson begins to write a survival guide to a dangerous place called high school. His social clique disperses as the year progresses and he eventually finds himself among the most unlikely of friends. The lead to Scott's #2 pencil scribbles away at page after page, leaving him tips on how to avoid bullies and what not to do about girls. In the end, Scott turned out okay, and handed down a useful tool to his soon to be little sibling. I had a connection to this book, in the sense that Scott and I are both freshman trying to get through the year. It was a good book, but not one that would be hard to walk away from. It never fully grasped my full attention, and cause me to debate finding another book at times. Over all it is an okay book though. I would recommend it to those who just want to pass time.
