Hunger Games
For my fiction book I read "The Hunger Games." This book takes place in "Panem," a very sci-fi-esk, present day Earth. In Panem there are 12 "Districts." Each District has a specific function and purpose to serve the "Capitol." Every year there is a competition between the districts for ages 6-18. They kids are chosen in a "Reaping." Then they are taken to the capitol and placed in a battle. The last survivor wins and is placed in a "Victors Village" in their district. If you are into sci-fi, adventure, or action, then this book is for you. I liked the extreme violence mixed with the romance and drama. It made for an interesting plot line and kept you entertained while reading it. However, I didn't like the forced love relationship that takes place between Peeta and Katniss.
