Percy Jackson: The Lightning Thief

Percy Jackson: The Lightning Thief is the first installment of the Percy Jackson & The Olympians series written by Rick Riordan. Percy is twelve years old and is about to be kicked out of sixth grade boarding school ... again. However that's the least of his problems. Recently, mythological creatures and ancient gods of Greek mythology appear to be walking straight of the pages of Percy's Greek history books and into his life. But there's more, he has somehow angered a few of them. Zeus's master bolt has been taken, and Percy is the prime suspect. Now Percy and his friend, Grover Underwood (who happens to be a satyr, a nature spirit with goat legs) and a new friend, Annabeth Chase, daughter of Athena (goddess of wisdom) and head of Athena cabin must go on a quest to return Zeus's stolen property before the summer solstice or the gods of Mount Olympus will take sides and start a civil war between them. Also, whatever happens to the gods emotions also reflects upon the mortal world, WWIII could be just around the corner. I enjoy reading the Percy Jackson series, it really keeps me awake and wondering what will happen next or what's new.
